Department Profile
The department of Humanities and Sciences was established in the year 2010. The Vision and Mission of the department is to focus on the areas of basic Sciences and Humanities to create an academic system that continuously moves towards academic excellence. The department offers courses in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, Environmental Science and Management subjects. As majority of the subjects offered to the first year B.Tech students are dealt by H&S department, this department takes care of all the first year students. The department also caters to II, III and IV year B.Tech students by offering courses in Mathematics, English and Management subjects. Being the supportive department, H&S plays a very constructive role in the development of the organisation. The department has qualified and dedicated faculty members who not only indulge in academic activities but in co-curricular and extension activities as well.

Humanities and sciences department is headed by Dr. C.K.Rani. she obtained her M.Sc Physics from Andhra University and is a gold medalist in M.Sc for the year 1979. She got her PhD in Physics and got the best PhD thesis for the year 1983-84. Her field of specialization is Engineering Geophysics. She has a vast experience of 31 years in teaching and industry. She has 13 research papers published in national and international journals, to her credit and submitted more than 25 technical project reports in water resources and civil engineering on varied projects in India and abroad.
She was a former member of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). She is a life time member of Indian Society of Hydraulics and Indian Geophysical Union.
